The purpose of this position is to independently coordinate fundraising events and activities in an effort to foster a continuing relationship between the College of Health Professions and the alumni/friends. The primary responsibilities of the job are to encourage alumni, friends and foundations/corporations to give to the College through their time, service, and monetary gifts. Specifically, this position is responsible for insuring the College’s annual fund goal is met each fiscal year, the College’s campaign goals are met, and the College’s major donor events are planned and orchestrated successfully. Further, this position assists in facilitating donor communication between their alumni and friends and the College, and between the College and the University. The position works with the dean of the College on other duties as needed. The College dean will work with central advancement administration and the Director of Development on coordinating development, alumni, and communications/marketing efforts.

Required Qualifications

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university is required along with two years of experience working with people in non-profit fund raising/advancement activities, or direct sales experience, or business development experience and activities where relationship building is essential or other “related” business experiences. Candidates with a master's degree are highly desirable.  

Candidates should have a valid driver's license and be insurable by the university's carrier as this position does require travel.


- Communicate clearly and effectively verbally and in writing with others in order to build relationships.
- Plan and organize meetings and other events in order to successfully engage alumni and friends of the University.
- Write or edit proposals, letters, and articles for the purpose of soliciting gifts and providing written information to constituents.
- Basic knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications for analysis and preparation of reports and correspondence.
- Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends to facilitate cultivation of constituents.
- Ability to multi-task and problem-solve in order to achieve goals in a timely manner.
