Responsibilities

The Office of Marketing and Communications is responsible for branding, creative services, and communications for Mercer University School of Medicine (MUSM) and its subsidiary, Mercer Medicine. The Director of Marketing and Communications will be responsible for leading all marketing, communications, graphic design and brand strategy efforts. As such, the Director will be responsible for providing guidance to the marketing and communications team by creating and implementing a measurable, strategic marketing plan that supports the overall mission and goals of MUSM and Mercer Medicine. As part of these marketing plans, he/she will be responsible for leading marketing efforts, communicating marketing plans to those involved, and planning and implementing programs and events that increase awareness of MUSM and Mercer Medicine to help build relationships among various stakeholders. The Director will additionally be responsible for Mercer Medicine Rural Clinic Marketing and Operations, as well as facilitating the Mercer Medicine Strategic Plan, and for working with the Mercer Medicine management team on Employee Relations and Engagement.

Required Qualifications

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, or related field and three years of prior marketing/communications experience, which must include graphic design, are required. Candidates must have experience with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and InDesign. Candidates with a master's degree and/or prior experience in healthcare and/or higher education are highly desirable.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, analyze issues, and respond quickly and correctly to resolve problems and support the needs of MUSM campuses and Mercer Medicine clinics.
  • Exceptional graphic design, web design, photo-editing, and social media management skills.
  • Must be a "team player" with the desire to promote the entire University and all of its programs through energetic and effective coordination with applicable University departments and appropriate external organizations and agencies.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, writing, and communication skills.
