Responsibilities

This position will be supporting structural and mechanical systems integrity programs for USAF Rotary Wing platforms (HH-60G, TH-1H, UH-1N, and future platforms). Support for other Rotary Wing product area programs may be required, including for Navy and Army platforms. 

Required Qualifications

- U.S. Citizenship is required.

- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.

- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET accredited institution and 2 years of directly related experience; or a Master's degree in same and 1 year of directly related experience; or a Ph.D. in same. 

Preferred Qualifications

- Performing fatigue and fracture analysis, including selection of the method and material data for different load environments.

- Designing fatigue and crack propagation lab tests programs, including any necessary fixtures.

- Designing on-aircraft strain/load surveys to capture steady state and vibratory airframe loads.

- Use and application of strain gages, accelerometers and other sensors to capture relevant test data.

- Experience post-processing measured stress, strain or acceleration time-history data using standard cycle counting methods such as rainflow counting.

- Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD programs.

- Experience with Nastran or similar FEA programs, and validation of finite element models using measured test data is a plus.
