Responsibilities

The College of Health Professions at Mercer University invites applications for a full-time faculty member in the Master of Athletic Training program. This is a 12-month position, tenure-track faculty position in a progressive and innovative College that emphasizes evidence-based and integrative approaches to healthcare and collaboration with the other programs in the College (Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant Studies, Public Health, Clinical Psychology, and Kinesiology).

Responsibilities include leadership of the clinical education aspects of the Master of Athletic Training program in the areas of maintaining and recruiting new clinical sites and preceptors, preceptor training, and overseeing/evaluating the clinical education program; graduate student classroom instruction; committee involvement; professional organization engagement; and scholarly activities to include grants, publications, and presentations.  The ideal candidate will have a commitment to excellence in teaching and a strong research orientation with potential for extramural support. Qualifications

Candidates must hold a doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, ScD, DAT, DPT) in athletic training or related field (kinesiology, exercise science, or exercise physiology) from an accredited University/College; ABD will be considered. Candidates must be certified and in good standing with the Board of Certification and be eligible for a license to practice as an athletic trainer in Georgia.  Prior teaching experience, familiarity with CAATE accreditation, and a record of peer-reviewed scholarly activity preferred. 

This position will be a 12-month appointment based at Mercer University‚Äôs campus in Macon, Georgia, which is about an hour south of Atlanta.  Academic rank commensurate with experience.
