Graduate or Post-graduate degree from an accredited college/university in healthcare, education, or communication degree is required. MBA desired.
Must have clinical degree and maintain an appropriate clinical license so as to be qualified to teach when necessary.
Work requires at least five years of experience working in a simulation-based learning environment. Must have knowledge and understanding of the use of simulation techniques in healthcare education and of training methods for adult learners. Must be able to transfer knowledge of program materials to facilitators and to insure quality instruction for all learners.
Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, supervise, and monitor team members. Excellent computer, non-traditional technical and verbal/written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work within a team. Demonstrated ability to work with medical faculty to develop instructional programs and evaluation instruments. Demonstrated ability to make decisions independently to a substantial degree within the scope of the center’s mission.
Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills are necessary. Ability to work as part of a team and independently with little supervision is necessary. Ability to plan complex and detailed projects is necessary. Proficiency with a personal computer to use a variety of business and simulation specific software applications is necessary.
Received Supervision: Curricular work, related to the medical school, is performed under the direction of the Senior Director of Medical Practice. Curricular work, related to the residency program is done so under the direction of the respective DIO of the clinical affiliate. Administrative work is performed under the direction of the Senior Director of Medical Practice. All other curricular work and overall simulation lab operations are performed under the direction of the Dean of the Medical School and Executive Director of Finance and Operations of the Medical School.
Given Supervision: Provides direct supervision and management of Assistant Directors for Medical Simulation on each campus, and their subordinates.
