Responsibilities

The Auxiliary Services Technical Assistant is an entry level position that will perform a variety of physical labor tasks. Work is performed with general supervision in repetitive and routine assignments and may be closely supervised with assisting higher level tradesmen in performing more complex work.

Services equipment by lubricating, changing batteries, consumable parts, cleaning and doing preventative maintenance work under the supervision of a skilled trades person. Replaces parts as directed, changes bulbs in food service equipment, steam cleans items as needed. Chases parts and materials for tradesman who performs basic cabling and assists tradesmen when needed.

Typical schedule is Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm with some on call duties periodically.

Required Qualifications

A high school diploma or GED and two years of experience performing manual labor are required. This experience must include working with small hand tools (e.g. shovels, rakes, post hole diggers, etc) as well as power tools (e.g. air compressors, skill saw, drills, voltage meters, etc.).

Candidates must have a valid driver's license as this position does require some travel.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Some knowledge of the application of trade skills to do the duties assigned.
  • Skill in the use and care of equipment and tools used in performing work assignment.
  • Ability to perform assigned task and follow oral and written instructions as directed by supervisor.
  • Work will require exposure to all types of weather.
  • Work may require lifting up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
