Responsibilities |
The position is responsible providing services to Baldwin, Hancock, and Washington high school participants in grades 9 through 12 by increasing students' GPAs, high school retention and graduation rates and post-secondary education enrollment percentages. The candidate must adhere to approved Upward Bound grant as well as Federal rules and regulations for Upward Bound. This position is under direct supervision.

Required Qualifications |
A master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Education, Counseling, Public Administration, or related area and at least one year of experience working with disadvantaged youth is required. Prior experience working with TRIO programs and/or teaching or guidance counseling experience is preferred.
Candidates must have a valid driver's license as this position requires travel.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities |
- Computer Software Application Skills to provide written correspondence to participants and referral agencies and complete database entry
- Ability to multi task to recruit and provide services simultaneously and maintain records according to federal regulations
- Good communication skills to effectively reach student participants and assist them in understanding how to reach their goals
- Sound judgement when interacting with students, parents and/or community partners
- Creative and innovative service delivery to high school students
