Responsibilities

The Clinical Coordinator is a vital part of the clinical year team that provides professional educational support for students in their clinical year of the physician assistant program. The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for data collection utilizing the program database system and evaluation instruments for the purpose of analysis by the clinical team and program. The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the data systems and developing innovations in data management needed for effective function of the clinical team and accreditation purposes. The Clinical Coordinator works independently to accomplish these tasks, and reports to the Program Director.

Required Qualifications

A master's degree from an accredited college/university in Business Administration, Health Information, Educational Technology, Education or a related field and two years of directly related experience, which must include data collection, project/data analysis/problem solving, organization skills/project management, writing for business are required. In lieu of master's degree, a bachelor's degree and five years of the above experience will be considered.

Candidates must have a valid driver's license and be insurable by the university's carrier as this position requires travel.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in order to coordinate student learning with various preceptors and maintain accreditation standards.
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and database management in order to efficiently manage placement of students and maintain data for program analysis.
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality of the program, faculty, and student records to prevent protected information from being disseminated.
  • Ability to provide effective, clear communication to preceptors, students, faculty, staff, and others in order to maintain the professional standing of the program.
  • Ability to interact professionally and appropriately with all members of the University, College, Department, and preceptors to maintain the professional standing of the program.
  • Ability to travel and interact with current and potential preceptors and their staff in order to recruit and retain clinical preceptors and instructors for the program.
  • Ability to work independently in order to accomplish the goals and mission of the program.
