Responsibilities

Responsible for the coordination of data reported to/from the Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS), STAR measures. Works with the billing department and Central Georgia Health Network representatives to evaluate the quality and completeness of clinical documentation processes, assists in the improvement of the clinical documentation process via training of providers and clinical staff, identifies trends, maintains accurate records of review activities and provides oversight and guidance on tasks required to meet HEDIS and STAR measures. The Quality Assurance Coordinator runs, analyzes and maintains reports from the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and other databases to conduct targeted outreach for areas of improvement. Perform duties to ensure HEDIS data accuracy and reporting, including investigation, auditing, and coordinating improvement opportunities. Assist with quality improvement initiatives in the clinical areas.

Works independently to assess areas for improvement, shares those with stakeholders and administrators and actively follows up to determine if improvements have been made. Provides general support to other clinical staff on an as needed basis.

Required Qualifications

A high school diploma or GED and at least two years of quality assurance work in a healthcare environment OR two years of experience as an LPN/RN with strong familiarity with HEDIS standards are required. Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. LPN or RN candidates are highly desirable.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Effective communication skills and experience speaking with medical providers and/or clinical staff.
• Recent and related experience working with HEDIS screening measures and/disease management, behavior change.
• Ability to apply creative thinking skills when needed to solve members' concerns and have a desire to advocate for them.
• Ability to thrive on change, to adapt to multiple focuses in short amounts of time.
• Demonstrated ability to de-escalate situations.
• Ability to work independently, apply critical thinking skills when needed, multitask with ease, and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.
• Demonstrated empathy, compassion and listening skills.
• Windows based application knowledge with ability to use standard corporate software packages and corporate applications with a high degree of computer literacy.
