The Instructional Design Specialist is responsible for instructional design support of nursing courses delivered in an online or blended format. Responsibilities include: assisting nursing faculty with designing and identifying teaching/learning materials and activities based on best practices and course outcomes; facilitating adaptation of instructional materials created for one teaching/learning format to another format; supporting the online learning environment through training and implementation; promoting the expanded use of educational software tools and learning management systems; and instructing and supporting faculty on emerging and creative use of technology. Additional support will include: set up of Learning Management System (LMS) course shells for all nursing courses; administrative oversight of all online software technology; entering course information into LMS; assisting with student integration into course access.

Required Qualifications

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university and two years of instructional design and development experience are required OR a master's degree (preferably in instructional design, instructional technology, or closely related field) from an accredited college/university and some prior instructional design and development experience are required.


-Recent experience with modern computing, networking, and communication systems
-Ability to organize and work effectively with the understanding of organizational policies and activities
-Proficient in communication, both oral and written
-Advanced skills in the use of technology applications
-Ability to integrate resources, policies, and information for the determination of procedures, solutions, and best outcomes
-Ability to coordinate and manage multiple simultaneous tasks
-Ability to work effectively in one-on-one and group situations
-Ability to organize work and effectively meet job expectations while also understanding and adhering to college and university policies
-Detail oriented and organized
-Ability to deliver positive customer service experience
-Ability to complete assignments in an efficient, timely, and (at times) expedited manner
