The Front Desk Assistant for Mercer Physical Therapy will be responsible for administrative activities of Mercer Physical Therapy under the supervision of the Clinic Director and the Chair of the Department of Physical Therapy. This person will be responsible for greeting and the signing in/out of patients/clients, answering clinic phone(s), scheduling patients for initial and follow-up appointments, and managing therapist schedules to optimize efficiency and reduce down time. The Front Desk Assistant is also responsible for verifying insurance benefits and authorizations, reconciling patient accounts with the billing company, assisting with reconciling end of month accounting deposits, managing credit card payments and reporting, and resolving patient account conflicts. This position will also contribute to and assist in the management of social media and website updates, and other tasks as delegated by the Clinic Director or Department Chair.

Required Qualifications
A high school diploma or GED is required, along with two years of medical office experience, of which one of those years must be in medical billing and/or coding. The successful candidate must have strong customer service skills as well as excellent organizational and multitasking skills. Must have Microsoft Office experience in order to maintain various budget and billing records, specifically Word and Excel, as well as the ability to work within electronic medical records.

Base: $15 an hour up to commensurate
