Responsibilities

The Coordinator of Housing Services shares in overall management of the Department of Housing & Residence Life’s auxiliary budget operations. This position is responsible for the daily management and operations of the department while providing administrative support to the Director and Associate Directors. The Coordinator performs daily functional budget administration including, but not limited to, maintaining accurate student financial accounts, housing budgetary files, and accounts payable receipts. This position works closely with the Housing Systems Technician and Assignments Coordinator overseeing the coordination of assignments for residence halls and apartments. This position also assists the Systems Technician with all department and university technology systems. The Coordinator of Housing Services is responsible for overall office management and all communications and marketing for the department.

Required Qualifications

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university is required along with one year of administrative support experience, to include bookkeeping/accounting and/or budgeting experience. In lieu of a degree, an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Strong organization skills 
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing with students and parents in order to provide quality customer service
  • Ability to work with various computer systems and assure accurate information
  • Knowledge of how to prepare and maintain a budget to manage fiscal funds
  • Ability to maintain spreadsheets for budgeting needs (Excel, Mercury, etc.)
  • General computer knowledge
  • Ability to be patient and provide quality customer service to students and parents who may have grievances with Housing and Residence Life
  • Ability to multi-task and focus in a busy office environment with high student and staff traffic flow
