Responsibilities

Incumbent will perform broad range of duties related to all maintenance disciplines including electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC as well as other duties assigned relating to campus facilities. The incumbent shall strive to maintain a safe and well-maintained campus for students, faculty, staff and visitors. The incumbent works under indirect supervision and reports to the Superintendent of Building Maintenance.

Required Qualifications

A high school diploma or GED and two years of maintenance/construction experience or combination of maintenance/construction experience and technical education.

Must have valid driver's license and be insurable by University's insurance carrier.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

1. Must have an understanding and working knowledge of maintenance disciplines that include electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry that would allow incumbent to perform assigned maintenance and repair projects.

2. Must be able to read and understand blueprints and plans

3. Must be able to prepare basic estimates for maintenance and repair projects.

4. Must have good communications skills both verbal and written.

5. Must have the ability to help identify and assist in the resolution of maintenance problems.

6. Must have working understanding of city, county and state building codes.

7. Must have physical ability to perform duties as assigned with or without reasonable accommodation
