The Department of Psychology in Mercer University’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences invites applications for a Lecturer position to start August 1, 2022. Area of specialization is open, but we are seeking candidates who can teach survey courses (in order of need), in Abnormal Psychology, Lifespan Development, and/or biopsychology courses. As the second-largest major in the College, we are seeking a colleague with demonstrated excellence in teaching and a commitment to serving a diverse student population.

Responsibilities include teaching 27 hours per academic year at the undergraduate-level.


A Master’s degree from an accredited college/university in Psychology or related field is required.  Candidates with a Ph.D. and/or prior teaching experience are preferred.

Background Check

Selection of the final candidate is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.

Pay Rate

Commensurate with experience
