Responsibilities

The Radiology Technologist will perform and analyze patient x-rays and report results to our physician team. The Radiology Technologist will be responsible for coordinating outpatient appointments, making patients who come in for procedures feel comfortable, and conducting patient x-rays. This position will ensure that patients are treated in compliance with proper standards of care and safety measures. The incumbent is expected to demonstrate flexibility with the ability to multi-task by working with multiple patients, handling some phone calls to include appointment related calls, refills, referrals and authorizations. Continue to display flexibility by working with other positions and serving as a medical assistant when not working as a Radiology Tech. Responsible for EMR documentation, patient work to include vitals, updating patient information and patient education. This position, under the supervision and collaboration with the overseeing physicians may perform annual wellness visits, to include ordering appropriate lab screening tests and immunizations based upon the physician’s protocols. This candidate is expected to perform all other assigned tasks within the scope of their certification.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must have completed an AMA approved School of Radiology Technology, have a current certification from the American Registry of Radiology Technology (ARRT), and have a current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification (CPR).  Additionally, candidates must have six months of healthcare experience to include phlebotomy as well as have the ability to perform x-rays and use x-ray equipment.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Ability to multi--task with office functions of medical practice
  • Knowledge of x-ray equipment
  • Ability to produce a computer-generated or film image for interpretation by a physician
  • Calculate, measure, and record radiation dosage or radiopharmaceuticals received, used, and disposed, using computer and following physician's prescription
  • Perform quality control checks on laboratory equipment or cameras
  • Maintain and calibrate radioisotope and laboratory equipment
  • Dispose of radioactive materials and store radiopharmaceuticals, following radiation safety procedures
  • Prepare stock radiopharmaceuticals, adhering to safety standards that minimize radiation exposure to workers and patients.
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment: computers, fax, scanner, copier, multi-line phone, etc.
  • Skill in oral and written communication, including interviewing to gather medical histories, excellent documentation skills to accurately capture and reflect data obtained, and ability to effectively facility communication among providers.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt and apply physicians protocol, guidelines and recommendations.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and autonomously; flexibility with various job requirements, positive attitude, imitative, willingness to learn and perform new task.
