Responsibilities

Mercer University is seeking a dynamic administrator who will support the successful transition of students to the University by planning and implementing a comprehensive orientation program for new students, coordinating annual Convocation ceremonies, and supporting other retention initiatives as part of the office of Academic and Advising Services team under the umbrella of the Provost's Office.

Required Qualifications

A master's degree from an accredited college/university in higher education administration, college student personnel, student development, or related field is required, along with one year of experience in developing and implementing new student orientation programs (may include experience gained during a graduate degree program). 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Ability to create and deliver effective presentations/workshops to diverse audiences
• Ability to foster effective relationships with university students, faculty, staff, and administrators
• Ability to work flexible hours and occasional weekends
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills in both public speaking and writing
• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines with overlapping projects
• Ability to work independently with accuracy and attention to detail on both large-scale and small-scale events
• Goal-driven, self-directed, and creative work ethic
