Responsibilities

Under indirect supervision, this position serves as the primary administrative support person for the College of Continuing of Professional Advancement in Atlanta. This person provides administrative secretarial support to full-time, Atlanta-based faculty in eight undergraduate programs and seven graduate programs. This position also supports the chair of the Department of Counseling, chair of the Department of Mathematics, Science & Informatics, program coordinator for the graduate programs in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling, School Counseling, Health Informatics, Organizational Leadership, Criminal Justice and Public Safety Leadership, and Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision as well as numerous adjunct faculty who teach on the Atlanta Campus. In addition, this person is responsible for performing duties to support the admissions process for the College’s graduate counseling programs. When performed effectively, these duties, aid in maintaining and increasing enrollment in the College and University.

Required Qualifications

A high school diploma or GED is required along with three years of administrative support experience, which must include working with databases. 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines and College and/or departmental goals.
  • Ability to type quickly and accurately to expedite processing of applications, prospect data, admission decision/status letters and other written correspondence.
  • Ability to type letters, maintain and update information to maintain student records.
  • Has the human relation skills to work effectively with diverse faculty, staff, prospective students, applicants, and students.
  • Knowledge of professional and courteous customer service skills to effectively serve faculty, staff, prospective students, applicants, and students.
  • Has proficient technology skills and familiarity with various software packages to provide support to department chairs, program coordinators, and faculty.
  • Ability to verbally explain the admission process and discuss other admission related issues with clarity.
  • Knowledge of office procedures and methods including telephone communications, office systems, and record keeping to manage daily workflow.
  • Knows and adheres to graduate program admission policies and procedures. Knows how to use CampusNexus to input documents and inform applicants of documents needed to complete their files.
  • Knows how to monitor budget spending and create purchase requisitions using CampusVantage.
  • Is flexible and willing to work as a team player in a complex organization that depends on coordination of efforts.
  • Knows how to draft, compile, and type accurate minutes for various meetings with correct spelling and grammar.
  • Ability to create pamphlets or flyers to publicize various College events and programs.

Base: $14.03 an hour up to commensurate with experience
