The Georgia Baptist College of Nursing is searching for a non-tenure track, 12 month nursing faculty to promote and lead the learning resource center within the College of Nursing.  This faculty member will use advanced and innovative technology and techniques to support the teaching/learning needs of undergraduate and graduate students. In addition, the LRC faculty member will participate in developing and implementing strategic initiatives to improve and strengthen LRC experiential learning, which includes but is not limited to simulation, clinical programs, remediation, and student success. 

Duties: Learning Resource Center Management and Operations

  • Integrates lab and simulation teaching and evaluation of nursing students.
  • Plans and integrates strategies to improve and strengthen LRC services.
  • Provides leadership to ensure the day-to-day operations of the LRC.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement, innovation, implementation and integration of patient simulation technology into existing and proposed curricula.
  • Provides oversight in the design, development and implementation of LRC training programs for faculty and adjunct clinical faculty, to ensure the delivery of the highest quality and most innovative educational methods.
  • Contributes to faculty teamwork and support team development and curricular evaluation within the LRC.
  • Collaborates with faculty to develop and implement innovative pedagogy and evidence-based teaching practices in a learning environment for undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Collaborates with faculty to develop advanced interprofessional simulation activities with other schools and colleges within and outside the University.
  • Supports research efforts associated with simulation-based education.
  • Engages with key constituent and accrediting bodies, and develops strong relationships internally and externally with colleagues, stakeholders, faculty and staff.
  • Promotes Center's recognition at local, regional, national and international conferences.


  • Assists in the preparation of the annual LRC budget, monthly reports, monitors revenue/expenditures, manages funding sources, and ensures maintenance of contracts.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with experience using public relations principles and practices.
  • Experience in strategic planning to effect change in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Ability to mentor and develop faculty in the areas of simulation, debriefing and other educational technologies.
  • Strong leadership and management skills. 
  • Ability to think, reason, and make sound judgments on how responsibilities are completed in compliance with college standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects/tasks with varied deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of student learning.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - In addition to the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed above, qualifications include:

  • Master’s degree in nursing from CCNE accredited program.
  • Unencumbered Georgia Registered Nurse licensure.
  • Proficient in computer usage.
  • Ability to meet opportunities of adult learners from diverse backgrounds.
  • Self-directed and innovative.


  • Two to three years of experience in simulation and skills lab teaching, or combination of education and experience commensurate with the requirements of the position.
  • Recent classroom and clinical teaching experience in postsecondary nursing program (past five years)
  • BLS certified instructor with current BLS CPR and ALS certification
  • Experience and certification in simulation.
  • Nurse practitioner certification.
  • Minimum of two years recent clinical nursing practice in an acute care setting.
