The Referral Coordinator is responsible for coordinating appointments for patients in need of consultation as requested by a referring physician. The Referral Coordinator will also be responsible for scheduling, tracking, referral case management and obtaining insurance authorizations. The Referral Coordinator will represent the company professionally and positively and always exercising utmost discretion, diplomacy and tact in customer interactions. The Referral Coordinator under the primary supervision of the Director of Clinical and Billing Services and general supervision of the Medical providers.

Required Qualifications

A high school diploma or GED is required, along with one year of healthcare office experience to include working with referral and/or insurance authorization is required. Prior experience working with electronic medical records (EMR) is also required.

The successful candidate must have knowledge of medical terminology and experience/knowledge of the referral process and obtaining authorizations. Must have working knowledge of HIPPA as related to release of information and the ability to use multi-line phone system with various features.  Must be highly organized and able to manage competing priorities and track multiple referrals at once. Must be detailed oriented, able to take and follow through with delegated tasks and accountability, and have effective communication skills. Must focus on obtaining and ensuring information obtained is accurate.

Pay Rate

Base: $12.28 an hour up to commensurate with experience
