Responsibilities

The Administrative Clerk is responsible for providing high-level, comprehensive administrative support for the Center for Rural Health and Health Disparities across its research, training, and community engagement portfolio of activities. Responsibilities include: maintaining initiative budgets; monitoring expenses and spend-down; assisting with preparing, monitoring, and invoicing of consulting and subcontract agreements; preparing budget amendments; reconciling purchasing card records; preparing requests for payment; facilitating procurement procedures and expense reporting; supervising student workers/graduate assistants; coordinating the hiring process for Center personnel, including working with the relevant HR offices for classification, posting, advertising, scheduling, and hiring; maintaining personnel records; assisting with the preparation of project reports; managing the Center’s participant compensation system (ClinCards); supporting new employee onboarding; overseeing event coordination (e.g., summits, trainings); scheduling and taking minutes of Center and project-related meetings; making travel arrangements, preparing travel authorizations, and completing travel expense reports; serving as the primary telephone point of contact for Center projects; foreseeing logistical and support needs of the Center in order to prepare for upcoming events and activities; and other related duties as assigned by the Center Director. Please Note: This position is contingent upon external (sponsored) funding for the Center.

Required Qualifications

A high school diploma or GED is required, along with three years of administrative support experience, which must include working with budgets. Candidates must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel for the production of letters, spreadsheets, and various reports. Candidates with a bachelor's degree are desirable.

Pay Rate

Base: $11.56 an hour up to commensurate with experience
