Responsibilities

The head coach is responsible for conducting the overall program while abiding by departmental and University policy. Duties include coaching, recruiting, scheduling, purchasing of equipment, budget management, monitoring of student-athlete academic progress and compliance with NCAA and Southern conference rules and regulations. The Head Coach is responsible for promoting alumni, donor, and community relationships. The head coach will assist in fundraising efforts for their sport and overall department.

Required Qualifications

A bachelor's degree from an accredited university/college is required along with prior coaching experience or a PGA Certification with teaching experience. The successful candidate must have working knowledge of NCAA and Southern conference rules in relation to men’s golf.  Additionally, the NCAA/Southern Conference recruiting test will be required which allows the coach to recruit off-campus. Candidates must have the ability to analyze a golf swing and make corrections as needed and the ability to recruit quality student-athletes who have the capabilities to be successful in a challenging academic and athletic environment.
