Responsibilities

This position is based in the University Advancement Office and reports to the Senior Vice President. Its purpose is to raise major gifts from primarily current and past parents, grandparents and other family members to support the work of Mercer University. This position will focus on parent donors with Georgia and throughout the country and will institute a strong culture of parent giving and engagement with the University.

The ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of people and an established track record in building meaningful relationships coupled with the ability to inspire other are critical components of the position. The Director of Family Philanthropy Programs must be passionate about fundraising as well as building strong, engaged communities of donors. The Director will also work with the Offices of Admissions and Student Life on identifying potential family donors.

Required Qualifications

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university is required along with two years of experience working with people in direct sales experience, business development, and activities where relationship building is essential or other related business experience.

The successful candidate must have a valid driver's license and be insurable by the university's carrier as this position requires some travel.
