Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this position are student communication (phone, email, and walk-in), form processing, perform verification of financial records in accordance with federal regulations and institutional policies, to award secondary awards of outside loans, outside scholarships, and Plus Loans, to data enter and maintain student financial aid records (both electronic records on the Nexus system and hard copy files), to be the initial point of contact and provide quality customer service to all students who contact our office, process federal form I-9s for Student Employment and to coordinate support functions for the Macon/RAC Financial Planning Office. The individual will be under the direct supervision of the Director of Atlanta but will also have a dotted line to the Senior Associate Director of Financial Planning for job training functions and procedures. The position will have authority to collaborate on departmental policy and procedures to ensure a smooth and efficient work flow in the office.

Required Qualifications

Two years of undergraduate college coursework and two years of related administrative support experience, which must include customer service and data entry, are required.  In lieu of education, equivalent directly related experience will also be considered. Must have excellent customer service skills to assist students and parents on the phone and in person as well as maintain knowledge of policies and procedures to comply with Federal and State regulations and privacy issues. The candidate must possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to handle difficult customers as well as the ability to research regulations to resolve verification issues. Must be able to multi-task and be able to complete various duties simultaneously. Prior experience using Campus Nexus is desirable. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

Base: $15.05 an hour up to commensurate with experience
