Responsibilities

The Credentialing Coordinator assists in tracking credentialing compliance and communicating requirements for student placement at external institutions. The Credentialing Coordinator supports Associate Deans by assisting faculty and students, organizing and maintaining paper and electronic filing systems, maintaining various databases and/or spreadsheets, initiating recurring administrative processes related to the academic calendar, and coordinating or assisting with GBCN projects and events. The position includes overseeing student compliance with external agencies and institutions. Judgment, teamwork and initiative are frequently exercised in supporting the Associate Deans in the administration and management of programs. Tasks are normally accomplished independently within well-defined procedures with direct supervision when performing more advanced tasks. The Credentialing Coordinator maintains excellent communication and fosters working relationships with all departments, faculty and outside institutions.

Required Qualifications

A high school diploma or GED is required, along with four years of administrative support experience.  Candidates with a bachelor's degree and/or prior credentialing experience are preferred.  The successful candidate must be able to proficiently use Microsoft Office software, particularly Word and Excel, to maintain various program databases and to drafts various correspondence and reports.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and abilities:

  • Ability to use CampusVue to retrieve information as needed for tasks, reports and/or to assist faculty/student.
  • Ability to manage Project Nurse/Concert/ESS/ACEMAPP software system to enter/track/evaluate student credentialing data, collaborating with the Contract and Clinical Coordinator and other credentialing coordinators to meet clinical agency requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills while performing job functions daily and to foster working relationships within the GBCN, the university, and outside institutions.
  • Demonstrated initiative and creativity to improve workflow efficiencies and processes to meet program outcomes.
  • Ability to initiates recurring administrative processes related to the academic calendar to achieve program outcomes.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of the nursing programs, GBCN and university resources/procedures to effectively complete job functions.
  • Excellent organizational skills with emphasis on attention to detail and an excellent attendance record associated with a high work ethic.
