Responsibilities

- Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) / MSG-3 Analysis 

- Conducts and guides a team of reliability analysts in statistical process control evaluations; Failure Modes Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA); and process improvement recommendations for complex systems with the goal to minimize risk level and optimize aircraft availability.

- Conducts field interviews of maintenance personnel to obtain a full understanding of the system(s) and problems currently experienced.

- Condition Based Maintenance Plus (CBM+)

- Identifies and develops necessary process controls to move Department of Defense (DoD) platforms from a preventive maintenance toa CBM+ based program.

- Creation and review of technical documentation summarizing efforts from aforementioned analyses.

- Generation and review of formal technical documentation change requests for implementation into customer manuals.

- Regular professional communication with customers to ensure satisfaction with end product

- Travel of between 3-4 weeks per year may be required.

Required Qualifications

- U.S. Citizenship is required.

- Successful candidates must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a DoD security clearance.

- This position requires an undergraduate degree and 2 years of related program experience, a Masters degree and 1 year of related program experience, or a Ph.D. degree. Degrees should be from one of the following technical disciplines: + Industrial Engineering or similar engineering degree from an ABET accredited School or College of Engineering

- Experience evaluating process control through statistical methods in a production or similar environment.

- Excellent oral and written technical communication skills. This will need to encompass technical report writing, customer presentations, and regular customer interactions.

- Must present the ability to work as part of a team, or alone, with a self-driven strong work ethic.

- Experience with mechanical and/or avionics systems especially related to C-130 and special operations forces C-130 highly desired.

- Familiarity with Air Force aircraft maintenance processes and experience interpreting the resultant data.

- Practiced in RCM/MSG-3 analysis and CBM+ process development and implementation.

- High motivation for continuous process improvement and automation.

- Programming skills and desire, preferably in Python or MATLAB.

Preferred Qualifications

- Additional experience with C-17, C-5, F-15, F-16, 707, 737, and similar platforms is also beneficial.

- Data Science, Mathematics, or Statistics minor or experience

Does this position require travel for University business in a rental car or University owned vehicle?

- Travel of between 3-4 weeks per year may be required.
