Responsibilities

The Grant Project Coordinator (Fatherhood Coordinator) will coordinate all aspects of South Georgia Healthy Start's (SGHS) fatherhood initiative, focused on eliminating disparities in maternal and infant mortality in rural Georgia. Positioned within the Center for Rural Health and Health Disparities, duties will include managing all aspects of father engagement across the SGHS service area, delivering the fatherhood curriculum to male participants, connecting male SGHS participants to resources and services, helping to recruit and enroll the male partners of other SGHS participants, facilitating fatherhood awareness campaigns, representing the program at fatherhood summits and similar initiatives, supervising students and interns involved with the fatherhood initiative, assisting with mother engagement and recruitment as needed, and other duties as assigned in support of SGHS. This position is supported by grant funds and is contingent upon the receipt of continued funding.

Required Qualifications

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university and at least two years of experience in health outreach, health research, health promotion, or related efforts are required OR a master's degree from an accredited college/university and at least six months of related experience are required.  Candidates with a master's degree and/or prior experience with field-based health promotion work or with rural and underserved populations are highly desirable. 

Candidates must have a valid driver's license and be insurable by the university's carrier as this position requires travel.
