The Student Success Counselor helps students to realize their academic, social, and emotional success while improving traditional undergraduate retention and graduation rates. The Student Success Counselor executes a strategic plan by facilitating data-informed initiatives and programs to support student thriving, as well as employing appropriate interventions to support individual students at risk of attrition. The Student Success Counselor also has crucial impact on the operations and service culture of the Stembridge Center for Student Success, serving as the supervisor for a team of student employees who work in the building’s lobby and support success initiatives.

Required Qualifications

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university is required, along with two years prior experience in college or university enrollment management, student success, retention, or student development. Prior experience must include fostering relationships with students, data analysis, and collaboration with other departments.  The successful candidate must have thorough knowledge of Excel to analyze data. Additionally, strong written and oral communication skills are essential in order to interact effectively with faculty, staff, and students. Candidates must have the ability to form organizational partnerships to build collaboration and consensus among groups as well as excellent time management skills to prioritize projects and meet deadlines.

Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable by the University's carrier as this position does require driving.
