Mercer University’s Stetson-Hatcher School of Business (AACSB accredited) invites applications for a tenure-track Faculty of Sports Marketing & Analytics on Mercer’s Macon campus beginning August 2020.  Primary duties include teaching 9 credit hours per semester including Sports and Entertainment Marketing, conducting research, mentoring students, and serving on faculty and university committees.

Teaching Responsibilities: Preference will be given to candidates who can teach sports and entertainment marketing and have experience at an AACSB-accredited institution. Additional teaching needs include event management and facilities management at the undergraduate level.

Service Responsibilities: The successful candidate will have experience or show great potential in working with external partners (Advisory Board Members) of the Sports Marketing & Analytics program. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in marketing, sport management or a related field from an AACSB-accredited university or other degree that qualifies them to be AACSB scholarly academic in marketing. Candidates with earned degrees will be given preference, but ABDs completing the degree by August 1, 2020 will be considered. 

Other skills and qualifications desired:

  • evidence of networking with executives at professional sports teams, college athletic departments and other properties
  • ability to develop new partners for the Sports Marketing & Analytics program
  • provide oversight for student placement in internships and careers
  • record of publications in respected scholarly journals
