Responsibilities

The Department of Pharmacy Practice of Mercer University College of Pharmacy invites applications for a full-time, 12 month, tenure-track faculty position. The successful candidate will develop an externally funded program of research related to pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, pharmacogenomics, and/or clinical pharmacology and contribute to the education and service missions of the department, college, and university. 

Qualifications

Candidates with expertise and research experience in pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, pharmacogenomics, or clinical pharmacology will be considered. The successful candidate will possess an earned doctorate (e.g. Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D.) from an accredited institution and will have completed appropriate post-graduate research training or have similar background and experience. Desirable qualifications include an established record of success in publication and in obtaining research funding.

The College of Pharmacy is located on Mercer University’s Cecil B. Day Campus in Atlanta, GA and is one of four health-professional academic units within Mercer University, which is classified as a Carnegie Foundation R2 (Higher Research Activity) institution.  The Department of Pharmacy Practice has 24 faculty members, both research-intensive and clinical, and a comprehensive network of outstanding adjunct faculty. Partnership with the region’s large health care organizations and local pharmaceutical industry provide a “laboratory” for ongoing research, access to human data, and offers unique opportunities for collaboration.
