This position provides administrative assistance for the Department of Clinical Psychology and its faculty. Position reports to the Chair of Clinical Psychology and provides assessment, accreditation, and administration support. Responsibilities include data management, creation of assessment reports, coordination of web-based and other assessment systems, and development of instruments that indicate achievement of accreditation requirements and areas of weakness.

Primary responsibilities include developing and implementing an assessment management system. Academic Support Specialist will collect, manage, and report data. Other duties include researching, assimilating, organizing, and prioritizing information for accreditation; assisting faculty with applying to local, state and national public and private grant funding agencies; and developing advanced instructional technology capabilities for faculty, staff and students.

This position requires excellent organizational skills, self -motivation, and superior knowledge of developing and using web-based assessment reports and other software. The Academic Support Specialist will become familiar with university computer software to meet the mission of harnessing available resources for accreditation. The ability to work independently as well as under direction is critical to the position.

Position also requires providing all clerical/secretarial support of the day-to-day operations, including interaction with students, faculty, and the off-campus community. Clerical support of academic and professional accreditation activities, coordination and arrangement of student recruitment, and knowledgeable regarding curriculum. Strong written and oral communication skills are vital to the success of the program. Must have excellent organizational skills, prefer undergraduate or associate degree and possess a working knowledge of various computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access, Performs all secretarial support. Position supports the Chair and faculty as they administer and develop all aspects of the graduate program.

Required Qualifications

Two years of college coursework and one year of administrative support experience, to include working with databases and customer service, is required. In lieu of education, equivalent directly related experience will be considered. Candidates must be able to use Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word. Candidates with a bachelor's degree and/or prior experience in an academic environment are highly desirable. 


-Proficient in use of Excel to import, export, and analyzed data in Excel and other assessment tools.
-Capable of providing a welcoming environment and communicating in a manner to provide services to faculty, staff, and students.
-Knowledgeable regarding development of assessment tables to capture accreditation data.
-Knowledgeable regarding programs that are useful for collection of data for accreditation.
-Knowledgeable regarding development of assessment tools that will mine data.
-Capable of providing a welcoming environment and being an effective communicator who can provide services to faculty, staff, and students.
-Capable of organizing and prioritizing workload to address multiple emerging needs and to meet deadlines under pressure.
-Able to maintain confidentiality regarding student academic and health related information.
