Responsibilities

The Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications will assist the development and execution of the marketing and communications strategy for Mercer University School of Law. The candidate will be responsible for helping to create and implement measurable goals that support the mission and priorities of the Law School. The Assistant Director will be responsible for creating original content, supporting enrollment marketing campaigns, managing social media channels, helping maintain the Law School website and designing marketing materials.

This position reports to the Director of Communications and Marketing and is a key member of the Law School’s marketing and communications team.

Required Qualifications

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Graphic Design or related field and two years of marketing/communications experience, which must include writing and developing marketing content and designing collateral materials are required. Candidates should be familiar with Microsoft Office
Adobe Creative Cloud (Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator) and/or Canva. 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Experience creating original, branded content for digital and print platforms;
  • Experience in social media storytelling, engagement and monitoring (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter);
  • Experience with digital marketing automation tools (Constant Contact, MailChimp);
  • Experience with website platforms (WordPress);
  • Ability to write and edit using AP style;
  • Proven skills to think creatively, critically and strategically;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines without losing customer focus;
  • Ability to work independently and work collaboratively with a team;
  • Exceptional interpersonal, writing, copyediting and communication skills;
  • Possess the cross-cultural abilities to build relationships and work effectively with diverse groups of students, colleagues and community members
