This position’s main area of responsibility is to sit at the front desk reception area and greet all visitors, guests, and students that come to the School of Medicine (MUSM) in a warm, friendly, and welcoming manner. This position will also be responsible for answering the main phone line into the School of Medicine and taking appropriate messages and/or forwarding calls to the appropriate people. The incumbent will manage the 25Live room reservation software program for MUSM Macon. This position will also be responsible for managing the daily incoming and outgoing mail for all employees in the Dean’s suite and arranging back up coverage, for when he/she will be out of the office. Additionally, this position will be responsible for ordering & managing office supplies for the Dean's Suite, and working with the Finance Team for electronic filing of scans of all travel reconciliations, requests for payment, deposits and some data entry, as well as other duties as assigned by the Finance Manager.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and must be able to use Microsoft Word/Excel/Office Suite. Candidates with a bachelor's degree, prior clerical experience and/or prior higher education experience are highly desirable. 

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with key individuals in other organizations/agencies across Georgia, as well as all management levels within the Mercer University School of Medicine.
  • Word processing and Excel to prepare various reports, correspondence, and documents.
  • Ability to proficiently and accurately prepare and enter documents into computer system.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality as a liaison between administrative staff and faculty.
