McAfee will employ a Director for the Center for Vocational Formation and Calling with education experience in vocation formation. The director will educate, teach, and lead in areas of vocation formation, discernment, and calling. This position will be part of the McAfee staff and report to the Dean. The position will be funded by the McAfee budget and the Lilly grant. The CVF is the result of a Lilly Foundation grant, the Pathway for Tomorrow Initiative. McAfee will staff and program the CVF to undertake a two-fold commitment vocation formation and calling experience: 1) to students preparing for their calling, and 2) and to the wider Christian community through understanding and applying their calling.

The CVF is focused on the whole person with information and formation, not just what you know, but who you become. As such, the expectations are curricular and co-curricular for students and the wider Christian community engaged in lifelong learning. Inspired by the words attributed to Howard Thurman, the CVF is asking “what makes you come alive?”
