Responsibilities |
The Financial Planning Assistant serves as the primary point of contact for the Financial Aid Office; provides information and answers questions from students, parents, faculty, staff and others regarding various federal and state financial aid programs and financial aid processes, procedural guidelines. This position has the ability to evaluate student eligibility for state, federal, and need-based aid, as well as assist with various applications ad questions regarding applications such as GSFAPP and FAFSA. This employee can assist with resolving various error codes on applications and document submissions. This employee greets, assists, and if he/she is unable to help then directs visitors to the appropriate Financial Planning personnel for best customer service experience. This position collects, scans and enters into Campus Nexus all completed forms, correspondence and any other necessary documentation and certifies I-9s. Along with supervising student employees, this position will assist the Senior Associate Director for Student Services with other projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications |
A high school diploma or GED and one year of administrative support experience, which must include data entry and customer service experience, are required. Candidates must have general working knowledge of Word and Excel.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities |
Must have excellent customer service skills to assist students and parents on the phone and in person. Must be able to multi-task and to be able to complete various duties simultaneously. Must maintain knowledge of policies and procedures to comply with Federal and State regulations and privacy issues. Campus Nexus experience would be helpful to assist students and families with questions and to enter documents received. Must possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to handle difficult customers. Must know how to use a copier, fax and shredder in order to assist with various office duties. Must be a team player and work well with all types of people.
