Responsibilities |
This position will independently coordinate laboratories; maintain supplies, equipment and computers; and supervise student workers for the Biology Department.
|
Required Qualifications |
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in Biology, Chemistry, or closely related field is required. Must have technical experience with laboratory equipment and be able to function in a technical environment using special equipment and methods. Candidates must have the ability to: set up and breakdown of materials for laboratory section including preparation of solutions, maintain equipment (e.g. autoclave, centrifuges, spectrometers, microscopes, etc.); purchase supplies and equipment; train, supervise and evaluate 2-10 student workers; maintain MSDS safety sheets and safety equipment; and be prepared to handle chemical emergencies. Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds to move equipment and/or storage with or without reasonable accommodation.
