Mercer University, College of Nursing, located in Atlanta, Georgia invites applications for a full-time, 12-month non-tenure track lecturer position. Registered nurse candidates with expertise in the areas of Mental Health, Women’s Health, or Pediatrics are sought to teach our highly qualified student body. Teaching responsibilities will be exclusively in the second degree accelerated BSN program (90%), along with a percentage of time allocated for scholarship and service (10%).   The candidate must have expertise and prior employment experience as a full-time academician at the university level.  The successful candidate will have on-campus faculty responsibilities.


Required qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Nursing at the time employment begins
  • Unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Georgia
  • A minimum of two years full-time academic appointment experience (five years preferred)             

The ideal candidate will have/be the following:

  • Highly efficient in teaching in the online academic environment
  • Holds evidence of scholarly productivity in area of expertise
  • Holds experience in the specialty areas of psychiatric mental health, women’s health, or pediatrics.
  • Evidences experience with CCNE accreditation standards
  • Maintains excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Displays a philosophy commensurate with Mercer University’s mission and values
