Responsibilities

- Responsible for software architecture, design, development and implementation of state-of-the-art business and human resources systems using a range of applicable technologies and software engineering methodologies.

- Responsible for the successful delivery, integration, and deployment of quality software.

- Applies strong analytical problem solving and debugging skills for complex issues across multiple programs.

- Remains abreast of all applicable technical advancements.

- Effectively manages and leads cross-functional teams addressing complex programs, issues, and problems.

- Applies and adapts theoretical principles to develop new computer software and/or hardware solutions.

- Adheres to approved MERC CMMI quality management policies and principles and promotes an attitude of commitment to continuous quality improvement.

Required Qualifications

- U.S. Citizenship is required.

- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.

- A Ph.D. in Software or Computer Engineering or Computer Science degree from a School of Engineering at an ABET accredited institution; or a Master's degree in same and 1 year of directly related experience; or a Bachelor's degree in same and 2 years of directly related experience.

- Strong .Net knowledge and application experience within a Visual Studio environment.

- Experience with ASP.Net Web Forms and Microsoft SQL Server.

- Experience in at least one .Net platform language, preferably C#.

- Web programming experience, including a working knowledge and application of ASP.Net Web Form, jQuery/AJAX, and JavaScript.

- Strong SQL background with ability to do complex joins, write stored procedures, functions and other objects.

- Ability to render a set of system requirements into a diagrammed data model then build it out as a database and set of software classes at the solution level.

- Strong knowledge and experience in Microsoft SQL Server, including the ability to perform backups and restores.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Five years developing software in a supervised and/or team environment.

- MVC familiarity, experience preferred; IIS familiarity, experience preferred; and CSS experience with Bootstrap is preferred.

- Familiarity with software communities such as GitHub as a resource for application problem solving and enhancement.
