Responsibilities

The Admissions Counselor is responsible for meeting or exceeding the College of Pharmacy’s recruitment goals. The incumbent will articulate the mission, values, and differential advantages of the College to prospective students, families, collegiate advisors, high school counselors, and other external constituents. The Admissions Counselor represents the College at numerous events primarily at colleges and universities and on campus events, but also at primary and secondary schools and external organizations (e.g., Georgia HOSA), and will meet and exceed the needs of all constituents. The Admissions Counselor is responsible for recruitment activities from initial inquiry through enrollment including, but not limited to, planning and event management of information sessions/open houses, application review, and counseling prospective students/applicants. The Admissions Counselor also manages the College’s Pharmacy Ambassador Program and the Pharmacy Scholars Summer Program for high school students.

Required Qualifications

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university is required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and work with diverse individuals and groups at all organizational levels within and outside the University. Must understand marketing principles and practices and be able to apply them to prepare and deliver oral presentations before small, medium, and large groups of people. Must also have experience using databases/constituent relationship management (CRM) platforms and Microsoft Office products. Candidates are expected to work some nights and weekends as needed.

Candidate must possess valid driver’s license and be insurable by the University carrier as this position requires some travel.
