Responsibilities |
Coordinator of patient accounts as assigned by Billing Manager to include collections process, counseling patients on AP balances, coding and posting of charges and payments, processing refunds, filing claims and generating past due letters. Liaison between Mercer Medicine and professional collection agency to ensure accurate and detailed information on accounts being turned over. Works A/R ledgers to counsel patients and enhance revenue flow of Mercer Medicine.

Required Qualifications |
A high school diploma or GED and one year of medical office accounts receivable experience, to include data entry, is required. Alternatively, 6 months of medical office accounts receivable experience along with an accredited school certificate of completion in billing/coding will also be considered.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities |
The successful candidate must have the following:
- Practice plan front office knowledge
- Working knowledge of Practice Plan software and Microsoft Office
- Good communication skills for speaking and correspondence
- Knowledge of third-party reimbursement procedures
- Coding (CPT and ICD) knowledge
