- Assists with development and maintains customer base to support MERC business goals.
- Provides support in the acquisition of new business opportunities.
- Assists with identification of MERC’s strategic goals and objectives and identifies opportunities in support of those goals and objectives.
- Requires knowledge of business strategies (i.e. competitive, sole source, incremental, contract type, estimated contract award and schedule, contract vehicles) to support appropriate contractual approach.
- Develops and maintains inputs to the business development database, forecasting, potential business opportunities and contract awards.
- Responsible for capturing $2M in new business annually while maintaining current business levels.
- Assists with performing Market Research (i.e. Industry Days, Prospective Sources, Qualified Small Business Sources, Potential for International Cooperation Program) to identify workload targets of opportunity.
- Assists MERC staff with identification of key programmatic risks (i.e. cost, funding, schedule, performance, industrial base, technology, manufacturing, and political).
- Assists in the execution of an annual budget for the assigned area and executes assigned.
- Follows through with customers to check on current MERC support and to identify potential future workload opportunities.
- Supports the Sr. Director of Engineering and Programs in the assessment of MERC capabilities and potential business area expansion.
- Responsible for support and execution of other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Acquisition Strategy.

Required Qualifications

- U.S. Citizenship is required.

- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.

- A High School Diploma and 18 years of directly related experience, including 12 years of business development, contracts or management experience; or a Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related technical discipline and 15 years of directly related experience, including 10 years of business development, contracts, or management experience; or a Master's degree in same and 10 years of directly related experience, including 6 years of business development, contracts, or management experience.

- Requires sufficient knowledge and understanding of technology and technology-related issues to interface effectively with technical staff within the MERC and customer communities.

- Knowledge of current and future DoD requirements.

- Self-starter who requires minimal supervision.

- Knowledge of CMMI framework.

- Overview knowledge of CMMC.
