The Director of Regional Operations independently performs the day-to-day management of Mercer Medicine Rural Clinics in the Southwest Region. The Director of Regional Operations will manage revenue growth, accounting/finance, human resources, physician productivity, and service line development. The Director of Regional Operations ensures that the revenue cycle remains effective in producing established revenue goals and is responsive to the needs of Mercer Medicine patients, providers, staff and the University. Collaborates with the Chief Operating Officer of Mercer Medicine, the Managing Partner of Mercer Medicine, and the Executive Director of Finance & Administration for Mercer University School of Medicine to prepare the Rural Clinic Mercer Medicine (MM) Practice Plan component of the annual operating and capital budgets. The Director of Regional Operations, at the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, will oversee information technology and financial services of the Rural Health Clinics under their management. The Director of Regional Operations facilitates communication with Medical Coders and Accounts Receivable Coordinators to ensure timely and accurate billing of all patient services for the Rural Clinics and ensure payments are collected and posted in an accurate and timely manner. The Director of Regional Operations will be responsible for development of off-site clinics once established by the Chief Operating Officer. This position will act as the Human Resources liaison between Mercer Medicine and the University HR Office and complete all personnel paperwork in a timely and accurate manner. This position requires the ability to interpret financial analysis regarding physician productivity, operating expenses, and the revenue cycle.

Required Qualifications

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university (preferably in Business or Healthcare Management) is required along with five years of progressive management experience in a healthcare environment, which must include general budgeting experience. Must have knowledge of provider billing, collections, credentialing, compliance, regulatory guidelines, fee schedules, and financial reporting. The candidate must also have previous experience with practice plan, hospital systems, and financial systems software.  Candidates with an MBA or Master's in Healthcare Management are desirable.

Required to know all aspects of the medical practice management standards; financial management, human resource management, budget planning, information management, business and clinical operations and professional responsibility.  The Director of Regional Operations will work from a private office setting but will be expected to travel to off-site practice locations and to off-site business meetings regularly and/or on a weekly basis.  Must have in depth knowledge of Microsoft Excel for budgeting, preparing numerous financial analyses and in-depth reports  as well as working knowledge of Microsoft Word for preparing report documentation and professional correspondence.  Must have working knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) used by Mercer Medicine/Mercer University School of Medicine in performance of duties as Director of Regional Operations.
