The department is a deeply rooted, integral part of MUSM. For over thirty years, it has focused on training medical students to fulfill MUSM’s mission of preparing healthcare professionals to meet the primary care and health care needs of rural, medically underserved Georgia residents and communities. Emphasizing interactive and problem-based teaching strategies, our student-centered faculty provides a conceptual and practical foundation that equips graduates to be discerning consumers and innovative producers of knowledge across a variety of medical and community settings, as well as academic institutions. Through teaching, scholarship, and service, students and faculty work closely to have local, regional, national, and international impact. Candidates must: • Hold a M.D. • Be board certified in Internal Medicine. • Be licensed to practice medicine in the state of Georgia. The ideal candidate will have: • Clinical experience in an outpatient neurology clinic. • Ability to work well with others in an academic setting. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Experience presenting and communicating medical concepts to clinical and lay audiences. • Familiarity and/or experience with medical settings and culture. • Experience working with stakeholders and communities in rural, medically underserved areas of Georgia. Responsibilities of the position include: • Teaching and mentoring students regarding neurology issues and treatments within the MUSM curriculum. • Supervising students in the clinical setting.
Faculty, Internal Medicine Internal Medicine Macon, GA
A successful candidate will hold an M.D. degree, be board certified in Internal Medicine, and be licensed to practice medicine in the state of Georgia. Experience in a health-related clinical area is desirable. Experience in both an inpatient and outpatient basis is desirable. The candidate must also demonstrate strong experience in working in interdisciplinary healthcare education and clinical settings.
