Responsibilities

The Director will oversee the day-to-day operations of the South Georgia Healthy Start (SGHS) initiative, which is working to eliminate disparities in maternal and infant mortality in a 7-county region of rural Georgia. The Director will be responsible for: planning, organizing, and managing the general day-to-day clinical, programmatic, and research activities of SGHS; overseeing and assuring compliance with policies and clinical protocols; supervising clinical and other programmatic staff; supporting clinical and programmatic performance measurement, quality assurance, and quality improvement initiatives; assisting with data management, progress reporting, and budget monitoring; coordinating the Annual SGHS Summit; and other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university and three years of project management experience, which must include prior supervisory experience OR a Master's degree and one year of project management experience, which must include supervisory experience are required.

The successful candidate must have knowledge of the interplay of funder, governmental, and IRB requirements as well as knowledge of budgeting and control of funds on behalf of a Principal Investigator.  Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.  The incumbent must have the ability to train, supervise, and enact performance improvement plans for supervisees. 

Desirable qualifications include:

  • Prior experience in managing externally-funded initiatives
  • Prior experience in managing caseworkers/social workers
  • Prior experience in managing clinical employees
  • 5 or more years of experience in a supervisory position
  • 5 or more years of project management experience
  • 5 or more years of budget management experience

Candidates must have valid driver's license and be insurable by the University's carrier as this position requires travel.
