Responsibilities

The overall purpose of this position is to support of the Department of Physical Therapy, including the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program, the post-professional programs, and the physical therapy clinic. Responsibilities within the Doctor of Physical Therapy program include assisting the program director, director of clinical education, assistant director of clinical education, and all faculty in activities related to clinical education and other departmental administrative tasks. Responsibilities within the post professional programs include assisting the director of post professional education in database management and other administrative tasks. Responsibilities within the physical therapy clinic include front office coverage (checking in patients, scheduling patients, insurance verification) and other administrative tasks.

Required Qualifications

Two years of college coursework and two years of administrative support experience (which should include working with budgets) are required. In lieu of education, equivalent directly related experience will be considered.  

To be successful, the individual must have knowledge of administrative/business management in order to effectively function in this position.  Must have intermediate to advanced level of knowledge related to the use of Microsoft (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) to manage databases and prepare information for necessary documents in support of the director of clinical education, directors, faculty, and staff. The successful candidate will be self-directed and motivated, with an ability to take initiative and complete tasks with minimal supervision, solve problems, and work directly and closely with students, faculty, and staff.  Must possess the ability to communicate effectively (cordially, professionally, and utilizing correct grammar/punctuation) with internal and external constituents in person and via phone/email.
