The primary focus of the position is to produce video content that portrays the Mercer Athletics story while maintaining creative brand and tone across multiple mediums. In addition, this position will assist with motion graphic design to include in-venue content creation and social media assets. This position will be responsible for the entire video production process, including creative strategy, storyboarding, capturing and editing. This position will require creativity and a strong foundation in video editing, production and understanding of the college athletics landscape.

This position will oversee broadcast operations productions with preparation and execution of broadcasts. Key responsibilities include scheduling student and freelance crew, preparing production documents, shooting footage to appear in broadcasts, and equipment set-up.

Required Qualifications

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in Communications, Journalism, Telecommunications, Sport Management or Marketing is required along with one year of experience which must include: experience in a broadcasting control room; experience with NLE software such as Premiere Pro or Avid; ability to operate and train on broadcast and DSLR cameras.

  • Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs. for set up of equipment with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Able to use Microsoft Excel and Word to maintain production notes
  • Knowledge of broadcast concepts and terminology
  • Technical troubleshooting skills with broadcast equipment
  • Experience with production switcher, graphics, replay and audio consoles
