Responsibilities

The campus clerkship coordinator manages the 3rd and 4th year programs on the Savannah Campus to insure effective service to the students and administrative support for the Clinical faculty. This position shall coordinate the clinical education program for third and fourth year medical students. These duties include but are not limited to: coordination of student schedules; scheduling and proctoring of all third year NBME exams; collection/distribution/statistical reports of student grades to: students, appropriate faculty, and necessary committees.; orientation /hospital –specific training for students; makes arrangements/verifies records for visiting students; and point of contact for students and clinical preceptors with MUSM. Incumbent maintains the Clerkship Manuals and Electives Catalog in written and web-based formats. Incumbent serves as the ex-officio member of the Clerkship Directors Sub-Committee and 4th Year Sub-Committee of the Curriculum and Instruction Committee and maintains all records for these committees for the Savannah campus. This position acts as liaison between MUSM and MHUMC, medical schools, hospitals, and physician offices. Supervise maintenance of the Student Lounge and facilities at the hospital. Also works with Year 3 program Director for third year curriculum and curriculum support concerns, Year 4 Program Director for fourth year curriculum and curriculum support concerns. This position will also assist with content input and management in the learning management system.

Required Qualifications

Two years of college coursework and two years of administrative office support experience are required. In lieu of education, equivalent directly related experience will be considered. A bachelor’s degree, experience in academic/medical school environment and/or managerial experience/coordinator experience are highly desirable.  Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Must be able to communicate (verbal and written) with many organizations internal and external to the university.  Must be detail oriented and highly organized to complete projects for successful outcome.
