Responsibilities

Duties of the position include participating in a dynamic team of skilled engineers conducting reliability analyses, performing Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEA), and sustaining the Operations Safety, Suitability and Effectiveness of military aircraft. Duties also include studies pertaining to aircraft systems and structures resulting in the development of solutions to identified failures or deficiencies. Travel of between 3-4 weeks per year may be required.

Required Qualifications

- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Successful candidates must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a DoD security clearance.
- This position requires a Ph.D. degree in a technical subject (ME, AE, or an engineering degree in a related area from an ABET accredited School or College of Engineering) directly related and appropriate to the primary functional area; or a Masters degree in same and 1 year of related program experience; or an undergraduate degree in same and 2 years related program experience. 
- Understanding of USAF maintenance programs
- Experience with aircraft systems, minimum 1 year
- Ability to work in a team environment to develop and implement aircraft maintenance processes to ensure safe operation

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with MSG-3/Reliability Centered Maintenance methodologies
- Experience with basic principles of statistics and probabilities
- Experience in aircraft structural analysis, thermal analysis, static and dynamic analysis
- Experience with analysis, design and repair of fiber reinforced composites, classic lamination theory/material anisotropy, joining/     
  fastening processes, corrosion/delamination/failure modes, and inspection methods
- Experience/familiarity with aircraft systems especially related to C-17, C-130, C-5, F-15, F-16, 707, and/or 737
